This series starts with a large mixed media triptych and continues with scanned digital prints and a handmade book. The triptych, About to Happen is made from acrylic paint, pastel, charcoal, collaged tissue paper and pattern pieces, text, varnish and red tape. Torn pieces have been hand sew back together again with embroidery thread and copper wire. The piece is done on water color paper and mounted on 1 " foam core. The text in the upper left panel reads, "The accident, always there, about to happen" The text int he center and right panels reads, "remember I never wanted to be born, better I knew to slip, unheld into the mist" The prints are scanned sections taken from the original triptych and digitally printed some on high quality photo paper and some on canvas. The Handmade book is made from pieces of those prints cut in 8.5"x11" paper size and pages made from sheer fabric dipped in wax and then cut and sewn. The text comes from a blog by Johanna Miller and writings by Elizabeth Perkins and Katherine Procter Miller.
